There are too many of these in the vegetable garden though they make good photo subjects.

The Blue Heron fledglings have left Beacon Hill Park for new feeding areas – all except the smallest of the chicks.
Even though they do a lot of squawking for food, the young crows have sweet faces.
After raising three healthy young herons it’s time for some R & R
The birds and flowers keep presenting themselves so I keep taking photos of them – hopefully not too many all in a row! The Blue Heron chicks have fledged and they’re in different parts of Victoria. The first photo is from Beacon Hill Park and the second photo is from here in Oak Bay, both taken today. The fledglings are humorous to watch as they get accustomed to being out of the nest.
Low tide was at 8:26 am today which was a perfect time to catch the marine birds feeding. An added bonus this morning were the Barn Swallows diving and gliding by as well. This barn swallow was brave enough to land close to me for a rest. Lucky me!
